Four Failures.
I have been doing ‘rescues’
and ‘clearings’ for almost twenty-five years, sometimes daily and, sometimes, a
number per day. As time has gone by, I
become more proficient and more knowledgeable in my ability to help Earth-bound
souls to cross-over and reunite with their families in heaven (the light). The guides and helpers who embarked on this
journey with me have increased in number, power and ability too, to the extent
that I know I am able to help souls from different cultures, help souls trapped
(on Earth) by old or ancient hexes and curses, and help souls who have been
trapped by their own vows and beliefs. The
spirit guides, who help me, have become so able that, sometimes, they have the
job done before I ever get around to it.
I used to wonder would I, and others who do ‘rescues’, become redundant eventually. This is not going to be the case though,
because of two necessary ingredients that the living provides for the
task. These are; the energy of a
physical body, loaned to the soul being helped, and our gift of free will. Just as ghosts steal our energy to make
noises or make things move, they need the same energy to make the crossing back
to heaven. And guides need our gift of free will frequently, to persuade a
hesitant soul (who also has free will, while they are Earth-bound) to go home.
I’m quietly confident that my
success rate, doing ‘rescues’, is reasonably high because I have never gone
looking for ghosts, I have always allowed that spirit would put them in my
path. I am strongly aware of ego and how
easily that can lead us up the garden path and into trouble. I have no intention of biting off more than I
can chew by taking on something more powerful than I and my guides can handle, nor
meddling in something that has a karmic content for the precipitants, where I
have no business interfering at the wrong time.
I am sure that I have a
higher failure rate than I know because it is not infrequent that I have to
return to a site where I have done a ‘rescue’, to repeat the performance,
because there was more than one ghost in the location. What happens frequently is; one ghost is
pushed forward, or a courageous entity will volunteer to go first to see how, what
I do, happens and what the outcome is for the soul. I do the ‘rescue’ thinking I’m finished and “Good
job, well done”. The remaining Earth-bounds
see that no harm came to the first one so they, then, make themselves known to
the living (usually members of the household) and I get another call to help
the rest cross-over. A good example is in
a previous story ‘The Ghost Who Didn’t Want Guests’, where I helped the farmer,
in the story, then later, had to return to help his dog.
So here are the ‘rescues’
where I feel I failed and my thoughts as to why that was the case. These are in view of significance, not
chronological order.
The first is a little elderly
lady who phoned me to complain about the spirits who visited her every night
and kept her up, sometimes, most of the night, talking mostly among themselves
but to her as well. They were making her
tired, she told me and she wanted them to stop but when I told her that the
thing to do was help them cross-over, she didn’t want that. She explained that she liked the company and
just wanted them to let her go to bed and sleep. I tried to make her realise that the sinister
reason she was tired was because they were stealing her energy and it would get
worse over time. Never-the-less, she
would not allow me to send the ghosts away.
The lady, in question, was more than “a little bit away with the
fairies” and there was no getting through to her that the ghosts were harmful
to her.
The second case is a
teenager, still at school, at the time I was called to talk to him. This young man was extremely sensitive and,
already, had developed mediumship abilities.
He was being haunted to the point where his life was becoming dysfunctional. His school work and social life were becoming
an obvious concern for this mother who was, also, present on the day. As I talked to both of them it became evident
that the young man relished the notoriety that he received, because of the
ghost or ghosts and was reluctant to be rid of them. My intuition led me to suspect he was gay as
he was certainly effeminate and, from the conversation, I learned that, because
of this, he had suffered quite a lot of discrimination, especially at school. I was able to do a ‘rescue’, because his mum
was there, but, although I advised him to find someone to guide him and help
him harness his abilities, I knew it was not being received well. I felt that, although I had succeeded to
‘rescue’ the ghosts that were there, this young man was hooked on the notoriety
his abilities gave him among his peers and he would attract more entities that
would make an already difficult life, even more challenging. Perhaps his mother had more success talking
to him because I never heard anymore from them.
In the third ‘rescue’ I,
also, failed to get the ghost to cross-over but, happily, it was for a good
reason. This entity was a man, probably
in his sixties, when he passed, who came to a psychic development circle that I
used to facilitate. He came on the last
night our circle convened and he came for an unusual reason. It was enlightening and informative for me
because we had a couple of mediums present who helped me interact with this gentleman. ‘Rescues’ are a bit more one-sided when I do
them alone, because I don’t hear spirit, I have to intuit what they need. Anyway, through the mediums this man told me
he would go to the light but not yet. I
was perplexed by this and asked him why so and he informed me (through the medium)
that he was waiting to bring the soul of a new-born infant, who was due to be
born, with him, when he crossed over.
Some of the ladies were aghast at this, presuming he was evil and going
to kill the new-born child. I knew that
was wrong as I felt there was no ill intended and, in fact, the man’s
intentions were entirely honourable. He
had come to our circle to learn how to cross-over and be empowered to do go
but, also, must have been asked by his guides and had agreed to collect the
baby’s soul, when it was ready. He had
been informed that the baby was going to be born but, because of a medical
condition, was going to die within minutes of birth.
The last failure that is
memorable is not so endearing in my list but is, certainly, valuable in the
lesson I learned from the experience. In
fact, there are probably two lessons to learn from this experience at Sharon
House, near Newtown Cunningham in County Donegal. The family who live in Sharon House have a
website dedicated to portraying the ghostly hauntings around their home and it
has become quite legendary. There will
be a book published by the owners, in due course, should you wish to find out
more. My story of interest is confined
to the tall entity who haunts what was the Coach House but is now a separate
living area of the premises. The same
group of people from the third story (above) had been to Sharon on a number of
occasions doing successful ‘clearings’ (the building is a virtual magnet for
ghosts. It currently seems to have as
many ghosts as ever, but I digress). The
evening we were there to do a clearing in the Coach House there was a larger
group of people than normal. That was a
mistake. The hustle and bustle with a
larger group of people brought together in such a setting, heightened
expectations, then drama, then nervousness, then (in a few individuals)
fear. Shock and fear are what
earth-bound souls are most adept at utilising to use for their own ends. So, when I attempted to help this individual
ghost to cross-over, he, almost with indifference, refused and stayed put. He is still there to this day. He’s not harmful, as such, and just wants to
be left alone. But, even so, anyone who
sleeps in the Coach House can expect to have a poor night’s sleep, at best.
Note;
The elderly lady already had
health problems that would increase in seriousness, over time, with the
constant draining of her energy. I
envisioned that this would not end well.
Constant exposure like this causes ill-health to advance and,
invariably, creates questionable sanity for the victims.
In the young man’s case,
while I succeeded to ‘rescue’ his ghosts this time, I felt that I had failed
because I didn’t get through to him how dangerous his exploits were to him
already. I worried about the effect this
could ultimately have on his mental health.
The third story was
technically a failure but one that I was happy to endure. The circumstances were momentously sad, from
our human perspective (imagine the heartbreak for family, doctors and nurses),
but delightful too because the man was truly a gentleman and spirit were
wonderful too, in their efforts to make sure another little soul wasn’t lost to
wander the Earth for years.
The lessons I learned from my
experience of the Coach-House are; to never have anyone who is afraid or who
might become afraid, anywhere near where the ‘clearing’ is taking place. Secondly, some buildings are meant to have
their ghosts. They provide atmosphere
and drama for the living and, importantly, this helps to increase awareness among
the general public, to the existence of an afterlife. We all must die, so it’s valuable to have
hope of continuance. A ghost is certainly
evidence of that probability.
